Seated Electric Scooter- The 3 Cool Styles Of Electric Scooters With Seats
My wife got me an electric scooter for Christmas. It is a seated electric scooter, and so far I have really enjoyed it. I can’t believe how much it is to ride, even for an adult. We actually shopped for it together, which was a good thing, because it gave me a chance to discover the 3 very cool styles of seated electric scooters.
The scooters I grew up with were the classic style. You put your foot on the ground to push the scooter along, and when you reached enough momentum, you “hopped” aboard, and took off!
Well, times have changed.
The new generation of electric scooters have various styles, one of which resembles the “push scooter”. In fact, some of these types that are intended for older children, can perform “tricks” and jumps! The seats are adjustable, and can handle different size riders.
Young kids can whip around on them at speeds of up to 15 mph, which is much faster than they can run! They are surprisingly quiet, too, due to their chain driven motors. Kids loves the hand twist accelerators, too!
The “Euro” style seated electric scooter is a “mini” version of the type that have been so popular in Europe. They have a padded, cushioned seat, that differs from the “bicycle” style seats seen on other models.
Many of these Euro style models have convenient strorage under the seat as well. One model that we looked at even had a docking station for iPods and an F.M. radio!
How much fun is that?!?
The third style of seated electric scooter is kind of a “hybrid” between an electric scooter and an electric bike. Typically, they lie lower to the ground than a bike, and are intended for older kids and adults.
Many have running lights, including headlights and tail lights, and even a directional signal. Most models can reach speeds of 20+ mph, and have front and rear disc breaks. They are great for running errands, or in some cases, even riding to work!
