Pro Bicycling?
I want to do “pro bicycling” I guess is what you call it, Tour de France type of thing.
What’s the average age that a bicyclist of that calibre starts? Yes, I am in good shape and tend to do endurance sports like skate-skiing & cross country.
Anything else I should know about it?… I know there are several resources online for races and whatnot, but I guess my main concern is what a good age to start?

Start now! Get involved in local races and see how you do. If you have enough success, you might get noticed by a pro team and sign you up. Just realize, very few riders have the ability to maintain a Tour de France pace over a 3 week race. They average 25mph (40khp) or more during a 5 hour stage. And speeds in the time trials are routinely over 30mph.
I think George Hincapie turned pro when he was 19 or something.
